3D raised letter plates — what are they?

3D number plates have characters that are raised from the plate surface using a high-gloss gel coating. The characters are still formed on the standard plate material, but each letter and number has a domed, three-dimensional appearance that catches the light.

All our 3D plates remain fully NCT-compliant and use the correct Irish font and dimensions. The raised characters do not affect the legibility required by the Road Traffic (Licensing of Vehicles) Regulations.

Are 3D number plates legal in Ireland?

Yes. 3D gel-raised plates are legal in Ireland provided they meet all other legal requirements — correct font, correct dimensions, mandatory Euroband, and reflective white/yellow background. Our 3D plates comply with all current RSA requirements.
