EV green flash plates in Ireland
S.I. 268/2025 (Roads Acts 1993 to 2024 — Road Traffic (Licensing of Vehicles) (Amendment) Regulations 2025) introduced the EV green flash plate for battery electric vehicles (BEVs) in Ireland from 1 July 2025. The green flash is a vertical green band on the right-hand side of the plate, mirroring the Euroband on the left.
The green flash is optional — BEV owners may choose to use it but are not required to do so. The rest of the plate follows standard Irish plate specifications.
